Short extract from TF1 7à8 TV Show, October 21st 2018
CNRS is engaged in preserving worldwide historical heritage. The public entity works on the geometric and chromatic restauration of major works of art and archeological objects.
Thanks to HoloForge and CNRS common efforts and expertise, it is now possible to overlap holograms on the famous bust of Akhenaton to reveal its original beauty: now, using a HoloLens app, people can have a look at the paintings, colors, decorations and volumes featured on the statue when it was originally designed.
Let's imagine what we could do in the near future... Visitors will be able « to turn the clock back » to reveal the story of precious archeological objects and masterpieces. Everyone will get the opportunity to discover sculptures, paintings, engravings… from the very first brushstroke, sometimes thousands years ago, until now - through the sketches, adjustments, damages and restorations.
