NOMADEEC | Mixed reality, the future of telemedicine

A worldwide first in pre-hospital care

Exelus and HoloForge demonstrate how health professionals in the field use mixed reality and the Nomadeec mobile telemedicine platform to speed up patient orientation and care. The mobile telemedicine application which includes mixed reality, ordering and video-conferencing, was designed with the aim of improving patient care and field practitioners’ treatment experience.

For the first time paramedics (ambulances, first-aiders, fire service etc.) can manage a patient yet keep their hands free to provide care. With HoloLens, they activate holographic interfaces by voice or gesture to collect and send a full report on the patient to a remote physician with whom they can also hold a tele-consultation.

Telemedecine and training in augmented reality

Using the HoloLens headset, users activate holographic interfaces by voice or gesture to collect and send a full report on the patient to a remote physician (this is called telemedicine or tele-consultation) with whom they can then work in real time and progress the diagnosis.

At CES 2018, Nomadeec was one of the show’s headline attractions. The team performed demonstrations, providing an insight into the way practitioners in the field can use mixed reality to support patients.

We were awarded the prize for the best augmented reality application in the “Environment & Health” category at the Laval Virtual trade fair, as well as the “Health Innovation” prize at the AR/VR awards organized by L’Usine Digitale.
