SAFRAN | Mixed reality in the aeronautical industry
When augmented reality serves as an innovative marketing tool at SAFRAN
Aeronautical product demonstration
Safran chose HoloForge Interactive to showcase Aneto, the new family of engines for super-medium and heavy helicopters, at the HAI (Helicopter Association International) held in Atlanta in March 2019.
Wearing HoloLens, the user is immersed in the heart of Safran engineering and discovers the specific features of this new range of engines in augmented reality (the application was initially designed to enhance the exploration of an actual physical engine placed in front of the visitor).
Mixed reality supports marketing
When someone looks at the engine, an exploded diagram appears, and the various modules which comprise it are revealed in the form of holograms. This educational method of exploring the engine’s capabilities helps improve the range of the helicopter models fitted with it. A second, fully virtual version has since been produced, enabling the product to be demonstrated even in the absence of an actual engine. A formidable and innovative marketing tool that can be used at a meeting or trade fair.
